Whether it’s because of the tryptophan or not, we’re going to be taking this Friday to enjoy a quite post-Thanksgiving rest at home, rather than a slurp-filled morning cupping at the Training Center.

Hello! A few months ago there was a change in ownership at the Indie Coffee and Books. Now it is called Cafe Cliche and Brian and Jeff are doing a great job with the shop. They have added ice cream and kept the coffee as Counter Culture. The address is:

Just a reminder to all coffee people who want to be in the know. The last Thursday of every month at 6pm is the Greenville Latte Art Hoedown at Coffee and Crema on Plesantburg Rd. Below are two pictures of the First Hoedown. Note the now famous Swan poured by Alex to beat out Ben Helfin.
The title says it all. People sometimes talk about how coffee builds relationships. It is fun to be part of this one. Counter Culture Coffee sells to Octane and 5 Seasons Brewery. All three of us are driven to tell the stories behind our products. Just like Octane sources milk from a local dairy (Sparkmans Dairy), 5 Seasons sources quality local produce for their daily changing menu.
Back to the beer. Every Thursday at 5:55pm 5 Seasons Brewery will tap a cask. At the Alpharetta location, people line up 3 and 4 deep to have some beer before they run out. It is quite an honor to be asked to tap a cask and even more of an honor to be asked to tap the first cask brewed in their Westside Brewery. So Tony Riffle (owner) from Octane was asked by Crawford Moran (brewer/owner) to tap the cask in part because the cask had Gerbicho Rogicha Espresso, but mainly because of the relationship that 5 Seasons and Octane have built. Hence the name of the cask, “Octane Espresso Stout”.
The Octane Espresso Stout was well received. 5 Seasons will offer a full time Espresso Stout on tap starting soon.
We, David LaMont and I, are really excited to be working with 5 Seasons Brewery. Quality Food, quality beer brewed on site and great service. Tomorrow we are excited be involved in the first ever cask made at the new brewery at the Westside Location.
5 Seasons will be using one of our espresso blends for the stout cask.
Come one come all, it will be at 5:55PM May 28th at 1000 Marietta St. Suit 204 Atlanta, GA 30318.
Noon Midtown - by far the best coffee house in Midtown. Noon is chef owned and operated; they do an amazing lunch service with brilliant sandwiches.
5 Seasons - great locally sourced and seasonal food. Beer brewed on site. Across the street from Octane with ample parking behind the building.
The Coffee Bar - 245 S Tennessee St. Cartersville GA. They have one of the most beautiful bars I have seen in a while. Made from reclaimed hard pine. The owners are really motivated and offer great service in a small town.
TahCha- Tea House 3352-c Chamblee- Tucker Rd. Atlanta GA. The owners are very tea focused, but they understand the need for qulaity coffee. They have a large space and a full kitchen. Tahcha should be open in a couple weeks.
Leon’s Full Service - From the same owners of the famous Brick Store Pub they bring you a quality food driven restaurant. The food is amazing. The service wonderful. And they care about coffee. Fully equipped with Linea 2 group and a water tower they offer quality espresso and french press. The cappucinos served at Leons rival most coffee shops.
Cafe Cliche - 340 W. Ponce Del Leon Ave -New owners of the Indie Coffee and Books. The new owners Jeff and Brian have added a fresh coat of paint and increased the desert offerings. In house coffee will be brought to the table. No more auctioning off lattes!
